The internet is abuzz with chatter relating to the Australian release date of Street Fighter IV being broken. Gameplayer are reporting it and I also noticed a few people playing, when I logged into Xbox LIVE! tonight.

Update: Local stores seem to have started selling the game as of this morning, so leave work early, take an extended lunch break. Do whatever you have to do, as this game will move quickly.

Red Ant Enterprises Goes Into Receivership.

By Trevor January 20, 2009

Red Ant Enterprises, the Australian distributer of Capcom, Konami, Bethesda and Midway has officially gone into receivership.

The major concern being, any delays to the release of Capcom’s Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5. Both due for release in the next few months.

“According to a listing on the Australian Securities and Investments Commission website, Australian videogame distributor Red Ant Enterprises is now in the hands of receivers.

Aside from distributing Capcom and Konami down under, Red Ant also handles Bethesda and Midway. Whether or not any future releases dates from those companies will be affected remains to be seen.

Update: Aussie site Gameplayer is now reporting that Capcom has ditched the distributor, leaving release dates for titles such as Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5 TBC.”
