Issued in a press release today by Microsoft. It has been announced that the wireless Lips microphones will indeed be compatible with the upcoming Guitar Hero: Metallica game. With future games also getting support for the Lips microphones.

Yeah baby! Weighing in at around the 1gb mark. The demo for Guitar Hero: Metallica has finally hit Xbox LIVE.

Now by this article, I’m not downplaying the value of in game music. There has been some EPIC music over the years. From the Zelda Theme from Ocarina of Time, to the greatest song of ALL TIME, the Theme from Super Mario Bros.
Now I don’t know about you all but especially when I’m PC gaming I’m more inclined to turn off the in-game music and fire up iTunes and put something on. It all depends on what the game is I suppose.
Sometimes the right music can make all the difference in the world.

Alan Flores - Lead designer of Guitar Hero: Metallica has updated the official Playstation Blog, with quite a lengthy and in depth look into the effort that is going into the game.
“We approached the game this way and really tried to put as much stuff in there that we (as fans of the band) would want to see. Awesome playing Metallica songs, check. Absolutely amazing opening acts (like my favorite band in high school – Slayer), check. Great character models, venues (with lots of pyro!), lifelike animations, Metallica-themed Pushead UI, check. Then we were like, “Wouldn’t it be great if we could get some old photos of the band? How about putting some rare live footage in there?” One of the first things people ask when they hear we’re doing a Metallica game is whether the game will support a second bass drum pedal so gamers can play the double bass tracks. With time schedules and such, it’s really easy to limit ourselves, but we felt pretty strongly that to have an authentic Metallica experience we need to have a second bass drum pedal. …read more

Larz Ulrich, Metallica’s outspoken Drummer. Say what you will about him as a person. But when it comes to drumming, any beat that he plays will usually turn to gold for the band. Everything apart from St Anger *shudder*.
Joystiq are reporting about a pre-order special in which you will receive a extra foot pedal and cable splitter when you pre-order the game through Gamestop.
