There’s good news for fans of the Fable franchise with Fable II Game Episodes being released yesterday. Microsoft are giving the first one away through Xbox Live and Games on Demand. More episodes will follow so if you like the first freebie, you will be able to purchase more in the future.
The Fable II Game Episodes will allow players to further explore the world of Albion, carrying on with the consequences of the choices made during the game there with them. Those who will just be beginning their Fable II adventures with the Game Episodes, can transfer their their progress and character development into the game if they get hooked and want to purchase Fable II, either digitally or on disc.
For more information check out the Lionhead Studios website.
Edit: So, seems as if the wording of the information released about Fable II Game Episodes has led to much confusion. It would appear that the episodes are not in fact new content, but a different way of purchasing the game. So, those of you who have the game already need not download the episodes. Those of you that haven’t may find it a better way to purchase the game.

Fable II: See the Future is the second instalment of downloadable content for the hugely popular Fable II game on Xbox 360. This add-on is based around three cursed objects acquired from Murgo the Trader, who sets up shop beneath the bridge at Bowerstone Market. Prompted by Murgo, your Hero sets off on a new series of quests, inside these cursed objects. As you just select from the Items menu, once each object has been acquired, there’s no traipsing across Albion to get to the quest start points.
Not to give too much away, this new add-on will have you rescuing villagers, fighting shadows, collecting statues and partaking in a challenge reminiscent of the crucible in three new quests: The Ghost of the Snowglobe, The Cursed Night and The Colosseum. One tip for The Colosseum, make sure you have a few resurrection phials stashed away for emergencies.
With the new content comes new achievements. Some of these are painfully easy to gain, while others take more skill and perseverance. Murgo also offers other items, other than the mentioned cursed ones, and you could find yourself with a new hairstyle, makeup or even a different dog.
As the name indicates, this add-on provides us with a hint towards what the future has in store in Albion, for those who belong to the heroic bloodline. This could even be a hit at what’s in store for us with Fable III. If that’s the case, we’re in for a treat. …read more

In an interview with Video Games 247 Peter Molyneux, Lionhead Boss has mentioned that the next DLC for Fable II “See the Future” will somehow link to the next Fable game.
“Well, while it’s not easy for me to absolutely confirm that, it would be pretty poor to say ‘See the Future’ if it didn’t have some connection, wouldn’t it? It would be kind of, ‘See the Present,’” he said when asked specifically if the content had anything to do with the next Fable title.
He added: “If we were doing a piece of DLC, why not use the DLC to say something about the future? Why not? Rather than doing one of those trailer things. Why not?”
Molyneux dropped a not-so-subtle hint that fans should be watching Theresa in See the Future for hints on Fable’s… future. …read more
