As everyone should know by now. Last Thursday saw the impending release of the Apocalypse, with Darksiders.
I really, really enjoyed Darksiders and I really enjoy giving things away on this site. So it gives me great pleasure to announce our Darksiders competition.
Thanks to the awesomely rad people at THQ, we have 2 x War figurines and 4 x Darksiders art books to give away. Allowing for six winners in total. …read more

The Apocalypse, is finally here.
In what has to be one of the most anticipated games of the new year, Darksiders sees War, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, banished to earth by the Charred Council, on a journey to discover the truth behind why the Apocalypse has been activated early, to find who is responsible for the chaos and to bring them to a swift and bloody justice.
Featuring Creative Director Joe Madureira, who will be familiar with comic book fans due to his artwork with titles such as X-Men and Deadpool. Darksiders is a visually striking game that stands immediately on its own feet in terms of presentation and production. But, the game also holds its influences close to its heart and is not afraid to show them.
Does the gameplay in Darksiders match up with the brilliant production values to create one of the must have titles on Xbox 360 and PS3 for 2010?
Read on to find out. …read more

Late last week, we had the chance to visit one of our favourite places on earth, the Melbourne THQ offices. We were there for a media/community event that would promote some upcoming games that THQ would be releasing in the first half of 2010. This meant that I would again, be able to get my hands on one of my most anticipated titles of 2010 so far, Darksiders: Wrath of War.
Ryan wrote about his initial impressions after his first hands on with the game a few months back now. While not completely blown away by the game, Ryan was still rather impressed about the art direction of the game, which isn’t a surprise considering that he is just as big a comic book nerd as I am and the fact that Joe Madureira is the creative director behind the game, the art direction is sure to impress any comic book fan.
My first hands on with the game was at the Armageddon Expo, although rather brief, it was enough to ensure that I left with a thirst, that could only be quenched by getting more hands on time with the game. Starting the game from what could almost be called the very beginning, I was really looking forward to having some one-on-one time with the game and that’s exactly what I got. The thing I immediately liked about Darksiders, was that it felt familiar almost straight away. Anyone that has played games such as God of War, Heavenly Sword and Devil May Cry will be able to pick up a controller straight away and jump straight in. …read more

Rather metal post title - isn’t it? Yeah!
I know Wednesday is normally our wallpaper day, but Darksiders the upcoming game from THQ that includes the legendary talents of Joe Madureira, will be out in January. In the mean time, to prepare yourself for the apocalypse, perhaps you should have a look at some of these Darksiders wallpapers.

Ryan wrote up a preview of Darksiders a few months ago, he wasn’t that excited about it, which I found strange. We’ve disagreed on a few games now, which is bound to happen, but I though Darksiders would be a game that we would both be universal on. That said, I finally got a decent amount of hands-on time with Darksiders back in October and I absolutely loved it.
There is also a lot of hype surrounding the game, which is normal for larger studio titles. …read more

With the brief amount of time that I was able to spend with the game during a preview, I was reminded of the classic action/adventure games that I loved during my childhood. Yep, I can’t wait for its release.
We received an email from THQ today, containing an exclusive pre-order offer that Electronic Boutique are as of now, running for Darksiders.

Suffice it to say that if the graphics from the upcoming release developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ - Darksiders flicks my switch then the promotional art released for the game…er…flicks my flood light - yeah! (They call me Captain Wordsmith for a reason!) …read more

Last week Trev gave you a few details on the upcoming release developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ - Darksiders which sees you playing as War - one of the four horsemen of the apocaplypse who, now disgraced & banished to Earth, must battle both the forces of heaven & hell in a weakened state to discover why his 3 brethren have triggered armageddon prematurely. Guided/controlled/badgered by the Watcher (voiced magnificently by Mark Hamill - picture the Joker meets The Darkness) you set out to rain your namesake down upon those who have wronged you.
Darksiders is first and foremost a great looking game & it is abundantly clear that a lot of time has gone into making this a game where you can simply get lost in the asthetics of the character models, surroundings, weaponry and more. As I’ve mentioned previously in my Red Faction review, this is certainly an element of gaming that maintains my interest & certainly from what I’ve seen of Darksiders, graphics-wise this game has ticked all the boxes. …read more

There has been a lot of talk about Darksiders an upcoming game developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ. set for release on 360 and PS3 in 2010, what is it that make Darksiders look so special?
For starters, Darksiders features Joe Madureira as the Creative Director. For those that may not know - Madureira is a rather well known Comic book writer that has worked on stories for Comics such as Deadpool, Uncanny X-Men, Battle Chasers, Excalibur and Ultimates 3. That fact alone makes us here at Medianator, very excited! Darksiders also features the voice acting talents of Mark Hamill, who is not only responsible for famous lines such as “But I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters!”, he also does the voice work for The Joker in the Batman animated series and the upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum game. Are you excited yet? …read more
