[Feature] Friday Film Clip: Dark Void

By Ronny August 28, 2009

“Capes are for wussies!”

Bold words there from Darkvoid developers Capcom - especially around this website!

Welcome to your inaugural Friday Film Clip on Medianator.com where I will be posting a clip each week whether it be the latest game trailer, motion comic or simply something funny that I stumbled across on youtube. To get us started, this weeks Friday Film Clip is the game trailer for Dark Void - AKA The Rocketeer 2099.

This game looks like it could be a lot of fun & the promotion for it certainly has a cool theme behind it which is doing its job of sucking me in more. Take a look around the official website (link below) & the captions for images & clips etc will soon have you chuckling along.

If you’re interested in forgoing todays bulky ferrari or BMW & would like to get a literal, run-up, jump & take-off on traffic during your morning commute, then why not stroll through the Dark Void show room here & look at the latest in jet pack technology? Be warned though, you’d be surprised how much bug splatter your car saves you from on a daily basis - ‘Oh no, all over the Armani suit’! …read more

[Review] Bionic Commando

By Trevor June 8, 2009

When looking at games from a critical viewpoint. You come across certain outcomes. Games that impress immediately, games that fail to impress and games that seem to struggle inside their own skin - like a uncomfortable teenager.

Where does Capcom’s modern day version of Bionic Commando sit?

Read on to find out.

Back in early May, I had the chance to preview Bionic Commando in a near complete state. I walked away impressed with what I had seen of the game and with a keen interest to play through the final version. Now that I have had the chance to play through the final build of the game. I walked away confused, why? Because at the start, Bionic Commando is nothing special. It’s not the mind blowing experience that everyone was cautiously waiting for. But, in it’s final stages Bionic Commando seems to shed the awkward skin that held in it’s inner beauty all along, and this is ultimately frustrating, because it gives you a somewhat brief glimpse at how good this game could have, and should have been. …read more

“Marvel vs. Capcom 2 unsurprisingly pits Marvel characters against Capcom creations. …read more

[Preview] Bionic Commando

By Trevor May 2, 2009

Late last week, I was lucky enough to head down to THQ in Melbourne and preview a near final build of Capcom’s re-imagining of their 80’s arcade classic Bionic Commando.

For those that may have been too young to play the original Bionic Commando - or that may have just missed the boat completely. I like to classify the original Bionic Commando as a “Fucking Hard Game”. I’d put it right next to Mega Man, Contra, R-Type and Ninja Gaiden on the “Fucking Hard Shelf”. …read more

New Bionic Commando Trailer

By Trevor April 12, 2009

I’m pretty excited about this game. As long as the swing mechanic isn’t broken, then I think gamers should be in for a treat.

Have a look at the new trailer after the jump and let us know what you think! …read more

In 1996, Capcom released Resident Evil (Biohazard in Japan) on the original Playstation console. Although Resident Evil wasn’t the first game to carry the “Survival Horror” label, it was the game that launched it into the mainstream.

Since the original Resident Evil, the series has spawned sequels, remakes and some rather ill-fated movies. …read more

It was bound to happen, wasn’t it? At least it looks like people will have the chance to win add on’s for their home avatar.

“Inside the Studio you will find a new shop, called the Adam shop, where you’ll be able to buy costumes themed on the game’s main characters Chris and Sheva. Sounds cool”

Is it just me or is Home not really going anywhere? I understand that it is still in Beta, but I just don’t see the point in it? Perhaps it’s because a lot of my friends don’t own PS3’s? …read more

I honestly can’t remember the last time a game was torn apart and scrutinised before its release like Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. From the moment the first screen shots were put on the internet showing a severe lack of zombies on screen at the same and dated graphics. The game was pretty much written off by most as being a weak and inferior port of a Xbox 360 classic.

It would be almost too easy for me to do a side-by-side comparison of both the Xbox 360 and Wii versions and show what the major differences are (we’ll save that for another time). What I’m going to do is to try and review this game as if I had never played the Xbox 360 version.

Read on to find out if Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is worth dropping some of K-rud’s hard earned economy saving dollars on. …read more
