Little is known about La Noire - Rockstars gritty detective tale. But this months Gameinformer magazine will be taking an in-depth look at the game that is based in Los Angeles.
February’s Gameinformer will go on sale at Newsagents and EB Games stores on February 17th.
The first issue of Gameinformer was a bit hit and miss for me, the second though, really picked up the pace and really captured my interest so I’m really excited to see what issue three comes out with!

2010 looks like it is going to be a good year for fans of post apocalyptic first person shooters. With games like Metro 2033 and the newly announced Fallout New Vegas, gamers should have some hopefully high quality titles in their hands this year.
Details of Fallout New Vegas are still rather slim, but THQ have just released a new trailer and new screen shots for Metro 2033. I was lucky enough to get a brief look at Metro 2033 earlier this year and the game was dripping in a depressingly bleak atmosphere that anyone that like the Fallout universe should love.
Here are the screenshots: …read more

Bioshock in many ways redefined how people looked at the FPS as a genre when it was released back in 2007. The way the story was implemented into the game, how the game constantly showed you the progression of the story through the characters eyes. Bioshock was a genre defining game and as soon as the announcement of a sequel hit the internet, the buzz and at times the concern was voiced by gamers. …read more

Last year I spoke about an animated series called Frisky Dingo, the underground cult classic which provided us with such great one-liners as, “Boosh!”, “Go time!” and “Kakow!” Well now Frisky Dingo co-creator, Adam Reed, has returned with a new series, Archer.
Synopsis: Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy set at the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS), a spy agency where espionage and global crises are merely opportunities for its highly trained employees to confuse, undermine, betray and royally screw each other. The series features the voices of
H. Jon Benjamin as suave master spy “Sterling Archer,” whose less-than-masculine code name is “Duchess”; Jessica Walter as his domineering mother and boss, “Malory”; Aisha Tyler as his ex-girlfriend, “Agent Lana Kane”; George Coe as his aging-but-loyal butler, “Woodhouse”; Chris Parnell as ISIS comptroller and Lana’s new love interest, “Cyril Figgis”; and Judy Greer as Malory’s lovesick secretary, “Cheryl.” Source …read more

Late last week, we had the chance to visit one of our favourite places on earth, the Melbourne THQ offices. We were there for a media/community event that would promote some upcoming games that THQ would be releasing in the first half of 2010. This meant that I would again, be able to get my hands on one of my most anticipated titles of 2010 so far, Darksiders: Wrath of War.
Ryan wrote about his initial impressions after his first hands on with the game a few months back now. While not completely blown away by the game, Ryan was still rather impressed about the art direction of the game, which isn’t a surprise considering that he is just as big a comic book nerd as I am and the fact that Joe Madureira is the creative director behind the game, the art direction is sure to impress any comic book fan.
My first hands on with the game was at the Armageddon Expo, although rather brief, it was enough to ensure that I left with a thirst, that could only be quenched by getting more hands on time with the game. Starting the game from what could almost be called the very beginning, I was really looking forward to having some one-on-one time with the game and that’s exactly what I got. The thing I immediately liked about Darksiders, was that it felt familiar almost straight away. Anyone that has played games such as God of War, Heavenly Sword and Devil May Cry will be able to pick up a controller straight away and jump straight in. …read more

The Spike TV Video Game Awards have wrapped up and I’m sure by the time this post goes live, that all members involved in the awards after party will be nursing some rather decent hangovers, Naughty Dog in particular.
Awards are one thing, but the VGA’s are also used as a launch pad for the debut of upcoming games. This year we had some expected ones and a rather unexpected one, the debut trailer of Batman: Arkham Asylum 2.
Read on to see the clips and to read my impressions on each. …read more
