I’m sure that at some point in time, everyone has received a viral email with a million and one Cyanide & Happiness comic strips c/o the talented psychotic people at Explosm.net. They’re the ones with the little stick figure men who have brought us such great lines as, “I’m not addicted to alcohol, alcohol is addicted to me,” and love scenes between man and cup-o-noodles and quite frankly, I love them…just not in a cup-o-noodles kinda way.
So fittingly, this weeks Friday Film Clip features (f**k that’s a lotta f’s) the Cyanide & Happiness crew as they face the dilemma of running out of booze at the height of the party.
Enjoy and if you like what you see then you can either check out more Cyanide & Happiness comics online …read more

It seems nowdays, that a thriller movie guaranteed to “scare you senseless”, is released every week. Rarely do they live up to their promise and they mostly always follow a generic formula that has been tried and tried by the previously released films of the same genre. Then along comes Eden Lake.
Eden lake starts off as most thriller movies do and yes, it does follow a lot of generic thriller movie formulas, but it’s the content in Eden Lake that makes it so powerful. It opens with a young couple, happily in love, heading off on a trip to get away from their everyday lives. Steve (Michael Fassbender) and Jenny (Kelly Reilly) come across Eden Lake, a bushland situated just outside a small local town that is currently under development. While relaxing lakeside, they encounter some local youths playing loud music and letting their dog run amok. A situation that everyone in their lives would encounter in one way or the other. In an attempt to retain some of the lakes calming atmosphere, Steve approaches the youths and kindly asks them to turn the music down and to pay a bit more attention to what their dog is doing. After what turns out to be an extremely hostile encounter, Steve cuts his losses and goes back to Jenny. The youths eventually leave and Steve and Jenny finally relax, believing that this is the much needed getaway that they both wanted, unaware of the terror that is just hours in front of them. …read more

Here’s another picture which has adorned my desktop for a long time & for a fairly obvious reason; when you’re at work & you hit the 3pm wall, it helps to be able to at least pretend you’re able to work properly by continuing to stare at your computer screen, then its simply a matter of waggling the mouse a bit & bashing the odd key. In the very least the look of interest you present won’t be fake, even if it is mistaken for an interest in work content! It’s for the aforementioned reasons that I love these cast of character backgrounds, they’re almost endless fun!
So enjoy this weeks background & think of me at 3pm as you reacquaint yourself with the cast of Futurama! …read more

I hate cats - plain & simple, I just don’t like them.
They sleep, they eat & they shit - they’re me with slightly more fur & I think that this world ain’t big enough for the two billion odd of us.
Having said that, I need keyboard cat in my life - nay, I can’t live without the little fella. Put it down to ranga solidarity, whatever, if he can provide me with comedic moments like this, then I’m down.
And hey, he even comes with a t-shirt.
Now, onto the clip, I know its childish, but my girl & I bought a puppy for XMAS & what you’re about to say is just another day in the life right now…well, not this extreme, but let’s just say that if his toy zebra was real, then we’d have some pretty interesting looking zeb-dogs running around these days. …read more

Yesterday saw the iconic Collingwood hotel The Tote close its doors for the last time - or does hope still exist?
The Tote is/was a venue which has nurtured up & coming bands whilst headlining some of rocks big names for over 30 years. However, last Thursday (14/01/10) proprietor Bruce Milne released this statement announcing the Tote’s sudden closure:
It’s last drinks at the Tote. This weekend…..
I know it’s sudden. I didn’t plan it to be like that.
I can’t afford to keep fighting Liquor Licensing. The “high risk” conditions …read more

It’s Friday, it’s the end of the week, it’s time to blow off some steam and so for pure shits and giggles value, today’s FFC is another stumble-find c/o the good people at YouTube.
So may I present to you a little clip called, Bad Ass Breakdancing with Just Fingers - Fingers Breakdancing which features the talents of a ridiculously dextrous young man who likes black turtle neck jumpers & miniature Adidas kicks and whom can do some pretty impressive things with his fingers.
…I tried pretty hard to not make that sound dirty & am fully aware that I didn’t quite achieve it - sorry, but hey, the gutter maybe a dirty place to live, but its never without a view laughs! …read more
