Its certainly been a while since we last spoke about the up-coming Splatterhouse remake.
The last we heard was that Namco had pulled the game out of current developer Bottlerocket’s hands, due to what was called “performance issues”. The whole situation became quite ugly and turned into game in which both sides were armed with blame-throwers and continued to fire at each other. …read more

Dead Set is the brain child of Charlie Brooker, the guy responsible for Nathan Barley, and is set in an imagined British Big Brother house. In this inventive series, zombies take over the country and the Big Brother compound is a refuge from the hoards of the hungry undead.
While not filmed in the real Big Brother house, it just as easily could be one from the look of it. The remaining contestants, some whom are based on actual UK Big Brother contestants, are pretty stereotypical. There’s the big loudmouth blonde with big boobs, the older slightly odd guy, the dittsy bimbo and the over-the-top gay guy, among others. Basically, it’s what you’d expect from any British Big Brother house.
The first of the five episodes begins on a regular eviction night with all going according to plan, until the shit hits the fan and the zombies start invading the land. To our eye, most of the outside world is running (yep, running zombies) around the countryside looking for fresh meat and the people left in the compound are pretty much all that’s left. The remaining are; a bunch of house mates, the latest evictee Pippa, Kelly the runner and the producer, Patrick. …read more

This weeks weekly wallpaper comes to you via the extremely addictive game Torchlight.
Do you miss the sleepless nights of searching for loot and enemies to slay in Diablo? If so, then Torchlight from Runic Games is the next game that you should purchase from Steam. Torchlight is a brilliantly addictive game, that features the same loot collecting game play that Diablo featured and a much brighter and more cartoon based art direction.
If you don’t have it, get it.
In the meantime, enjoy this Torchlight wallpaper. …read more

Ryan wrote up a preview of Darksiders a few months ago, he wasn’t that excited about it, which I found strange. We’ve disagreed on a few games now, which is bound to happen, but I though Darksiders would be a game that we would both be universal on. That said, I finally got a decent amount of hands-on time with Darksiders back in October and I absolutely loved it.
There is also a lot of hype surrounding the game, which is normal for larger studio titles. …read more

I have talked about Glee before, but now I have a chance to simply focus on the music, with the release of the first volume of songs from the show. The soundtrack features songs from the first nine episodes, as well as every cast member, and a great range of different styles of songs, from some great R&B, to ballads and an amazing show tune, or two.

Assassins Creed 2 has finally landed. Has it overcome all the issues of repetitiveness that the original game suffered from? I believe it has, I really do but thats for me to talk about in my review.
How do you feel about the game? Does it compare or stand out with the other blockbuster titles that have been released in the last few months? Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2, Borderlands. The list goes on and on.
We are always spoiled for choice when it comes to this time of year. October - December is always a serious gamers nightmare, too many good games, not enough time to play them all.
How are you handling the roster?

I’d never heard of Wake in Fright before, so when a review copy made its way to my doorstep, I did a little bit of research to see what the film was about. In most cases Wake In Fright was known as an Australian cult classic - a film that portrayed the brutal aspect of the Australian outback. I was intrigued to see if the film lived up to its Australian classic status that it seemed to achieve.
Released in 1971, Wake In Fright becomes an important Australian film for several reasons. The film is Jack Thompson’s first major film role and it is also the final film that Chips Rafferty made. Sadly, he died shortly after the film was completed. These aren’t the main reasons that Wake in Fright is such an important film though. Wake In Fright, is a confronting, no-holds-barred look at the Australian outback. Once thought lost forever, Wake In Fright has been painfully restored digitally, frame by frame for its DVD and Blu-Ray re-release and the effort really does show.
Wake In Fright is centered around one man, John Grant. A disgruntled school teacher based in a small school in Tiboonda, situated in the barren Australian outback. …read more

So, the gaming side of the evening was covered by Trev yesterday so I thought I’d give the music side a it of a look in. For the most part I was less than impressed. A DJ played throughout the night, which was fine except there was a lone saxophone player and a guy with his own Latin rhythm section playing along to the tunes. Weird.
Then there was the surprise guest, two of the girls from the Pussycat Dolls, Melody and Ashley perhaps…I’m pretty sure they were there because of their inclusion on the Lips line up but it was all just a bit odd really. They yelled into the microphone and then danced around with the fellas mentioned earlier, then left. I don’t know if two of the less recognisable Pussycat Dolls were the right act for a room full of gamers. …read more
