Everyone loves a good montage & everyone loves GTA, so here’s where the two worlds collide thanks to ign.com

This weeks Friday Film Clip shows a series of clips taken from the latest instalment in the story lines to emerge from GTA IV - The Ballad of Gay Tony & showcases one of the main draw cards to this new adventure - base jumping!

That’s right, whereas before jumping off buildings resulted in a hearty splat sound followed by a few short steps from your nearest hospital, now you can literally pull the pin on all that drama & with it will follow the silk chute of life AKA a parachute (hey, I’m feeling whimsical which I feel is in keeping with the theme so just go with it!)

This certainly looks like a helluva lotta fun, but as you can see, it doesn’t necessarily mean that alls well that ends well… …read more

Ain’t It Cool News have posted quite a delicious rumour about the Green Lantern film, due to release in June, 2011. The rumour suggests that Jackie Earle Haley, who played Rorschach in the Watchmen film, is about to be cast as the main villain of the Green Lantern universe, Sinestro.

If this wasn’t exciting enough, the site also claims to have been given a tip claiming that Superman, could also make an appearance in the film. Hopefully, Brandon Routh will be picking up the man of steels uniform once again, as I really enjoyed his portrayal of the character in the last film. Routh is listed as being rumoured for the role over at IMDB but things can easily change, can’t they.

I was excited about the Green Lantern film before but now, it seems as that everything is falling into place to make it a fantastic superhero movie.

Mumford & Sons Book Club

By Michelle October 29, 2009

Mumford & Sons‘ front man, Marcus Mumford, has set up his own book group. The first cab off the rank is Cormac McCarthy’s, All The Pretty Horses. Mumford invites people to read the suggested books and then add comments after he has given his own appraisal of the text. Believing that what you read heavily influences what you write, Mumford wants the group to be more about self-improvement rather than about critiquing books.

For more information, head to the Mumford & Sons website.

Who do we have to thank for this weeks Wednesday Weekly Wallpaper?

DC? - Naturally.

Martin Nodell? - Indirectly.

Gingas/Rangas/Chutney Crotches the World Over? Stretching it a bit, but maybe.

No, the answer funnily enough is the Fallout 3 Game of The Year edition! Last night when I had the chance to do whatever I wanted without any complaints from anyone, I decided to simply give myself over to the Fallout 3 franchise & be reborn as Guy Gardner in Vault 101. In the character design panel I gave myself Guy’s granite-like chin & chiselled jaw line,  his long, yet stubby nose, narrow eyes if course, his ginger ninja locks (in a flat top style in honour of his days as Warrior, the Last Vuldarian). …read more

Remember when we talked about Cowboy Ninja Viking? (2 months on and that’s still so much fun to say!) Well here’s the latest direct from Image comics on this exciting new title.

                                     *    *    *

On the verge of COWBOY NINJA VIKING’s debut, Image Comics announces writer AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo’s highly anticipated action-packed mini-series with a multiple personality twist will expand to regular ongoing series!

“Even before its release, COWBOY NINJA VIKING has seen a reception much like CHEW’s explosive launch, making it evident writer AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo shouldn’t be contained to a mere four issues,” Image Comics Vice President Jim Valentino said. …read more

[Review] New Moon Soundtrack

By Michelle October 24, 2009

So, my suspicions were right. The New Moon soundtrack is actually really good. Well, mostly really good and far superior to last year’s Twilight soundtrack. Released early due to overwhelming demand, the Twilight Saga crazies, sorry, fans, got to hear it a few days earlier than originally planned. All of the songs on the soundtrack are original and exclusive to the record, with the exception of I Belong To You by Muse, which was remixed for the soundtrack.

As mentioned, the New Moon soundtrack is much better than Twilight one. This record is a lot more mature and less obvious than the previous one. Gone are the teen angst ridden tracks like those from Paramore. Here we are presented with many indie and alternative big artists like Death Cab For Cutie, Sea Wolf, Muse and Thom Yorke, who all bring more depth to the album, and hopefully the film. …read more

THQ Announces Metro 2033

By Trevor October 23, 2009

Late last night THQ via Twitter, announced their new game Metro 2033.

At Armageddon while checking out Darksiders (write up coming soon), I was told by THQ’s PR mastermind Paul Houlihan, to keep an eye out for a “interesting announcement” that was going to be made in the next week. That game is Metro 2033 and I am seriously interested! …read more
