Introducing David Sides

By Ronny June 30, 2009

Let’s face it, there have been some God awful cover songs in our time - Tanya Donelly has certainly made the list for what she did to The Cure’s Lovecats - and artists quite often miss the mark simply by playing the song in its original form, possibly believing that they were maintaining the integrity of the song etc. But in my humble opinion, the covers you remember (for better or for worse) are those that have an unusual spin on them e.g. Gary Jules’ cover of Tears for Fears’ Mad World which became the haunting theme to the film Donnie Darko in 2001.

Well, following in Jules’ footsteps and campaigning for the For-The-Better team comes David Sides who definitely offers an original spin on some mainly recent hits with his purely instrumental, piano stylings. Whilst admittedly, I don’t listen to a lot of pop or r ‘n’ b, even I could pick out a few of his songs and enjoyed Sides’ version moreso than the originals ironically enough.

Described as, “a new sensational and versatile artist [who]  has emerged in the music industry, and his name is David Sides from Riverside, California. …read more

If there is one thing that Volitions Red Faction: Guerilla will be remembered for, It will be it’s destruction model. While the game can come accross just as most sand-box titles, the mayhem and devastation that can be cause in RFG is second to none.

Eurogamer, have taken an incredibly deep look into how the games destruction came about, and what design issues were overcome in the process. The two page feature is an extremely interesting read for anyone interested in game design, or just video games in general. …read more

Not much is know about the movie, no casting or plot details. But Avi Arad has been noted as one of the films producers. By Trevor June 26, 2009

When you have a job that has gone temporarily bat-shit insane for the basis of a fortnight. You miss some things. I, sadly, completely missed the fact that the newest DLC for Fallout 3 has arrived. If you have spoken to me about Fallout in general, you would understand that I have a rather unhealthy love for this game, and thrive on anything that will provide me with a new gaming experience in the wastelands.

Fallout 3: Point Lookout has me rather excited due to the fact that it looks rather fresh to those that have been traveling the barren wastelands for months now, since the games release. …read more
